IFORS 2021 Virtual – Digital Twin optimises container terminal handling

As February draws to a close, we say goodbye to our colleague Oliver Jelsch. We warmly welcome Dr. Lawrence Henesey to our team in his stead!

A digital twin is being developed at EUROGATE Container Terminal Hamburg. The IHATEC-project, TwinSim, aims to develop this for process optimization at the terminal. It visualizes real-time data, especially from straddle carriers, and uses IIoT technologies for potential optimizations. We spoke to Michael Kugler at AKQUINET about the project's status and the role of the TIC4.0 standard.
